Parada Turibus Mérida

I thought it would be a good idea doing this tour but it was not. At first when I told the girl who was handing out the bracelets, she told us that even though we had paid online I had to email her the confirmation directly or else she could not let us ride because she needed confirmation of that purchase. Turibus, does not have a more modernized way of providing their employees purchases made online. So, if you decide on doing this, it might be best to do the purchase with the associates. On the other hand, the trip is done through double-decker bus that has a pre-recorded audio playing during the route. We did not make any stops. We did the North Route at 1:00pm; we sat on the top to take some pictures which was not such a good idea, since we had the hot sun blaring down at first, then some rain, cables and tree branches to duck from. Plus, we did not really see anything interesting other than some vintage homes we did not stop for. When we got back to the initial stop, then told us that the bus tour for the south tour had just left and it was the last one. The only solution we had was to wait for the next one again, which would be doing the same route we had just done. It was absolutely aggravating, and very disappointing experience. We would have been better off doing it on our own.

On 12/2/2022 I purchased two tickets via the website to take the bus in Merida. We showed up at the Cathedral in Centro and was denied access. The rep told me she would be a print out of the tickets not the QR code on the email. She proceeded to say she couldn't take it. I lived 30 minutes away and came down just to take the tour. There was no way to get a print out. So I went home and reported the incident. Only to be told she did not have authority not to allow me on the bus? How was I supposed to know a person coming off the bus with a name tag on and conversing with the bus driver did or did not have authority. I was told I would get a ticket and even a courtesy ticket. Neither has come. I only really wanted the refund. So I followed up a week later on whatsapp and email, and nobody ever got back to me. I would recommend to NOT use rheir system to purchase a ticket and HOPE everything goes well. Because if you have any problems there is ZERO resolve. I do not recommend just because none of this interaction makes sense. I'm still living here and regularly don't recommend to people to do this trip.

This morning, I purchased a ticket using their website and a credit card. The charge of $120Mx ($5.83 USD) is still pending to my credit card, but the company says (via email exchange) they do not have a record of my purchase. I didn't get an email with a ticket and could find no information about what to do. After waiting a half hour for a bus to arrive at Paseo 60, I talked to one of their guides on a bus who told me that the tour was only in Spanish. It wasn't indicated on the website what language it was in, so I assumed they had audio tours in various languages. That seems to be a wrong assumption. She also said the 1pm tour from Santa Lucia is the only English language tour. But I give up.
